What Is V2L?

V2L stands for Vehicle-to-Load.

Certain electric vehicles are capable of sending electricity out of the vehicle's high-voltage battery, rather than only accepting electricity for charging.

A V2L adapter connects to the vehicle's charging port and provides an AC outlet that can be used to power suitable electrical devices.

In simple terms:

Plug & Play Operation

Using the adapter is simple:

1. Make sure your vehicle supports V2L functionality.
2. Switch the vehicle off or place it into the manufacturer's required V2L mode.
3. Connect the V2L adapter to the vehicle's Type 2 charging port.
4. Activate V2L through the vehicle menu if required.
5. Connect your appliance to the European socket.
6. Ensure total power consumption remains within the vehicle and adapter limits.

No permanent installation is required.

Important Compatibility Notice

Your vehicle MUST support V2L.

Having a Type 2 charging port does not automatically mean that the vehicle supports Vehicle-to-Load.

The adapter does not create V2L functionality in a vehicle that does not already support it.

V2L operation and maximum available output depend on:

• vehicle manufacturer
• vehicle model
• model year
• software version
• regional specification
• vehicle V2L power limit

Some EVs may also require V2L to be enabled from the vehicle's infotainment system before power is supplied.

Comparable Type 2 V2L systems are commonly designed around 230V single-phase output up to approximately 16A, but the vehicle's own V2L system ultimately determines the power available.
